Hard Time is the story of August Day, a man imprisoned in a repeating series of events he finds himself reliving in different eras of the 20th century, from the Great Depression, through World War II, and into a dark, dystopian future. In each time frame he is pursued by the same two men, brutal tormentors intent on bringing August only misery and suffering. His only hope is in the love of June, the woman he meets over and over in each era, and his efforts to escape the repeating cycle with her.
